To strengthen your baby's muscles.

Begin this activity by placing your baby face down over a blanket and placing an object of his interest in front of him. Now stimulate your baby to reach it by moving the object and encouraging him to do so. Continue with this exercise for 5 to 10 minutes, or until your baby gets tired. This will strengthen your baby’s muscles, preparing him for the future acquisition of motor skills, like crawling!
